Seven Tennessee players and two Vanderbilt players were named to the Southeastern Conference 2008 Coaches' Preseason All-SEC team Monday.
Offensive lineman Anthony Parker was a unanimous pick. Joining him on the first team were running back Arian Foster, defensive back Eric Berry and linebacker Rico McCoy.
Offensive lineman Ramon Foster was named to the second team, and center Josh McNeil and receiver Lucas Taylor were third-team picks. Berry, Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno and Auburn punter Ryan Shoemaker were the only sophomores named to the first team.
Vanderbilt had two players named. Defensive back D.J. Moore was named to the first team and fellow defensive back Reshard Langford was named to the third team.
"D.J. is coming off a remarkable year and deserves all the attention he is getting. He's a big-time player in a big-time conference,"
Vanderbilt football coach Bobby Johnson said in a statement. "I'm also pleased that Reshard is getting notice because he's truly one of the finest defensive players in this conference. Reshard does his job at a very high level. He's a great competitor, a great athlete, and a tremendous leader for the Commodores."
LSU led all teams with 14 players selected.
Florida was second with 10, but the Gators led the league with five first-team picks.
