Creer's kickoff return a part of SEC history

Tatum grad Lennon Creer probably could not believe it. But, more than 70,000 people in attendance at the Southeastern Conference Championship saw it.

Lennon Creer, who is a true freshman for the Tennessee Volunteers, etched his name in the SEC title-game record book with a 50-yard kickoff return, topping the previous record of 46 yards by Auburn's Markeigh Cooper in 1997.

Senior articles will run during the Christmas holiday. However, please understand, because of bowl games, there maybe one or two of the articles that will be delayed. As we get more information on the bowl games, I will make that available. I will have a complete listing of seniors that will be featured in upcoming senior articles.

In addition, I am looking for winter athletes to write about. If anyone wants to make sure a son/daughter is on my growing list, please e-mail me (Dan62293@cs.com). I will need the name of the athlete, the former high school, the college/university he or she is attending and the sport he or she is playing. Please put "Longview News-Journal" in the subject line of the e-mail.
